You can import the Dolby Atmos files in the media bin like any other kind of file, like described in the article
Import Media, but the easiest is to drag and drop the file from Windows File Explorer directly into the media bin.
When importing a DAMF, only select in the directory the file with the extension .atmos for dropping into MIST
Dolby Atmos files are automatically recognized and identified in the media bin with a specific thumbnail:
Loading files on the timeline
Loading standalone audio files
A double click on the Atmos audio file will automatically load the file in the timeline:

Audio Configuration
-> The audio configuration for the rendering is the one set per default in the system settings, in this example 7.1.4.
See "

FFOA
-> The FFOA (first frame of action) is indicated with a purple line on the audio clip:
-> Waveforms can be turned ON/OFF from the track display settings (icon at the right en of the timeline):
Loading Video and a standalone Dolby Atmos
To assemble a timeline with separate audio and video files, first start to load the video, with a double click from the clip in the media bin, in order to set all the video parameters automatically (frame rate, resolution, etc.).
Then on the Dolby Atmos audio file, right click to access media bin operations and choose one of the Add media track operations:
Add Media Track will place the beginning of the Dolby Atmos file at the location of the PlayHead on the timeline. To be used when no FFOA present in the file, or when you need to make a manual synchronization.
Add FFOA Aligned Media Track will automatically align the start of the video with the FFOA indicated in the metadata of the Dolby Atmos file:
